While #Skype is down searching for alternatives for international calling and texting. So far the only thing that worked from iPhone is Fring.

Google Voice failed to send an SMS to Russia and failed to make a call to Russia. Works fine for the US-based numbers. Fring does not have SMS though. Bummer…
